China North Industries Group Corporation (NORINCO) revealed its new 9mm JS submachine gun during the 2005 International Police Equipment Expo held in Beijing. The submachine gun may initially be targeting the export market, but may also enter service with the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and People’s Armed Police (PAP) for special operations.

中国北方工业（集团）总公司（NORINCO）在北京2005国际警察装备博览会期间展示了它的新型9毫米JS冲锋枪。冲锋枪可能最初的目标是出口市场，但是也可能用于特种操作进入人民解放军（PLA）和人民武装警察（PAP）服役。

 

The JS submachine gun appears to be developed from the Type 95 assault rifle, with its ‘bullpup’ configuration where the magazine is located behind the trigger. The submachine gun fires 9mm handgun rounds from a closed and locked bolt in either the automatic or semi-automatic modes. The gun is recoil-operated and has an integral silencer. The gun can also be fitted with optical scope and other accessories for operation in both day and night conditions.
